The Brief
The ABC and RTÉ Ireland are calling for one-page History or Contemporary documentary outlines suitable for an Australian Irish co-production or co-financing.
Submissions can be either:
- a one-hour single documentary, or
- a prime-time series (up to 3 x one-hours)
These programs should target the ABC primetime Documentary slots and the RTÉ strands True Lives, Arts Lives and Hidden History in the RTÉ One Tuesday 10pm slot.
ABC and RTÉ are looking for innovative and highly engaging storytelling suitable for a prime time audience. Both historical and contemporary subjects will be considered. Compelling, gripping, perhaps controversial, or with a new slant on a historical event - the subject, style and approach is wide open. The stories must have content and relevance for both an Australian and Irish audience; in this respect RTÉ is likely to need a strong Irish element in any proposal.
